New Transfer, New Companion, New NEW NEW!!

There is a lot of change that has happened this week, good and bad, and it will be a short letter (sorry...). But here goes!

Mon: we visited people, so sister latham could say goodbye to people, we made more chocolate pizza, had dinner with the lamberts (of couse), and packed at night. it was a sad night but i know sister latham is going to do great in Bouniful (pinkwashing, she is taking over an elders area!!!)

Tue: sister pearson gave us a ride to SLC for transfers, and i had to say goodbyes to sister latham! but, i did see sister weber and sister taylor which was absolutely fantastic! it totally made my day, my whole week! it was much needed :) we got back, did unpacking, planned for the scripture study class with the sisters, made visits, had a lesson with d* (about the 10 commandments and law of chastity.. that was fun! :P) and d* cancelled :( boo. SLEEP! :)

Wed: we had lunch with sister chamberlain, which was really nice! we did more study with the sisters (with pamphlets) OH! sister poitivint got transferred to cannon, so now we have sister hathaway and sister Hart (a trial missionary). sister bennett was not feeling well, so basically rested till our 4pm lesson with M* and the T*s and then we had dinner, lesson with O*, P*, and then contacted a referral which was awesome! M*, he lives in Lakepoint ward and we set up a retun app! :) SLEEP!

Thur: Sister Bennett was REALLY not feeling well, so we were in ALL DAY. i watched the testaments a few times, updated the area book, cleaned a bit, but we also had to cancel 3-4 lessons, which really took a toll on our numbers for the week. She did get a blessing though and sister pearson made her Boiled Peanuts (its a southern thing, taste interesting... :P) she was feeling better after 5:30ish, so we made it to the scripture study class (which E* was at!) and then tried to make some visits. I'm kinda glad we were home that day though because i got a text message from L*, J*'s sister, and he dropped us. like a hot potato. except it hurt a LOT WORSE. i felt like a terrible missionay, like i could've done something more to help him or find his concern. he said its not our fault, its just him. i know eventually he'll come around, and i know there's probably not much i could've done, i think he made up his mind that he doesn't want it right now, we just DON'T KNOW WHY!!

Fri: weekly planning and district meeting, we met our new DL, elder Selin (ponounced like celine dion :P) from New York. he is quite a hoot :P we also saw t* and e* that night.

Sat: we  were able to do a few correlations... but i felt so sick that morning, we didn't leave till about 1pm... GRrrrrr! q4tjf894hpw34u0&$(&*_&(%){PI/*-+)(*&^TY. thats how i felt :P haha but we had one lesson cancel, one with he v* (we taught the word of wisdom) and correlated with the pearsons, who are in idaho for holiday weekend :)

Sun: i love church, i seriously do. we got to go to a few ward councils and talk about specific people, and Blomquists were at church... sadly, hardly anyone else was at church. ^T#)&*(&*$#Y_)_)JUW"PEUO (+*%*--+*/#u! YES, A LITLE MORE OF THAT! :P haha sometimes missionary wok gets frustrating, but everyone hits these walls (or stumbling blocks) and has to just cry a river, build a bridge, and get over it! :D yay! we visited with bishop steele, bishop steinegal, and had YET ANOTHER lesson cancel. but thats ok.

This week is going to be great, i can feel it. i love this area and these people, i love missionary work and i feel my heavenly father and saviors love working in my life, as well as his atonement of course:) LOVE YOU ALL AND HAVE A GREAT WEEK! :)

Yep... she's awesome!

Last Week of the Transfer

So! this has been a pretty great week! i'll start off by saying the transfer news! i get to stay in this area with a new comp, sister bennett and sister latham is heading off to Bountiful! its funny, because its close to my last area! :)

lots to do today though, so i'll go fast! Siste Poitivint is also leaving, off to salt lake (cannon)! is gonna be a good transfer!

last monday we made chocolate pizza and had dinner with he lamberts again. tue we had a lesson cancel with n*, but we found out that our investigator B*'s mom was in a 4wheeler accident and has 3 broken ribs, broken collarbone and punctured lung. so we popped by to visit her too. we saw the M*'s as well, we just love them! :) Saw K* and had a great lesson with D*! Also, sister Latham drove all day which was fun... except for the few times she went on the left side... :P haha but she did good!

Wed we had lunch at the c* again and saw read the book of mormon with c* and ruthie. we also saw T*, B*, M*, etc.

thursdays are always our busy days! :) we had a great lesson with g* and n*, saw n*, and did a painting service project! it was fun, instead of painting houses and fences, we painted pandas onto rocks! :D we also had our scripture study class and a lesson with B*.

Friday was our planning and district meeting and it was sad because a lot of changes we knew were going to happen for transfers so we took lots of pics and said some goodbyes :,) sad. we also had a good lesson with the v* kids and p* basically knew all of the answers! we had a good lesson with e* too! sat we wet to a BBQ kind of thing, suit burning for elder day and elder baier. lots of fun... i got some color, but its not quite the kind i want :P a little redder than i would like.. :P we had a good lesson with g* that night too and d* ended up canceling, but we correlated with the pearsons and abbi just got new kittens, so i was a bit distracted... to say the least... :)

Sunday was good too, we had two lessons and a good day at church! sorry for the short letter, but it'll be longer next week! love you! :)

Another Glorious Week! :)

This has been ye another fantastic week! We accomplished so much with the help of the lord and with the help of members as well! :) It will probably be a shorter letter this week cause I don't feel great, but I’ll do my best :)

MONDAY: Cinco de Mayo! it was a good pday, I spent time playing piano which was relaxing :) we had dinner with the Lamberts and hey made steak fajitas and fish tacos (I ate the fajitas :P) and told us about their trip to Cancun and Chichinitza (is that how you spell it?) then we saw the V*s and sleep, he best part of the day :) hehe

TUESDAY: we had a fun day! In the morning we went and helped our investigator clean the house of a member who was in the hospital for pneumonia. Then we planned for our scripture study class that we're starting up with the other sisters. We tried to see some more people, had dinner, saw C* and she said she would come to church, had a lesson with D* and D* :)

WEDNESDAY: we had lunch with sister chamberlain, tried to contact some referrals, had a few lessons cancel, but saw M* and his family and taught the Word of Wisdom, and hey committed to live it. We also saw the B* that night and talked about the baptism and had a lesson with B*.

THURSDAY: For some reason, these always turn out to be our busiest days. We had a lesson set from 11-7:30 every hour! O.o our 11 wasn't there so we went to our noon appt a little early. The V*s made us lunch... English style fish and chips! And yes, I was brave and ate them. Fish is still not my thing, but maybe I’ll warm up to it over time :P then we had an awesome lesson with G*, and the primary president from the ward came with us.... best part? She wants herself and her family to be baptized! :) we are so excited, hopefully put her and her daughter on date this week (her daughter turns 8 June 15th and neither parents are members!) then we saw K* because N* cancelled, then R*. Oh, R*. Sometimes he is just a stubborn pill. But he's getting there...SLOOOWLLLY. R* cancelled so we visited, then dinner. We went to our scripture study class... of course, being the first week... no one showed! YAY! :P haha but we are advertising it more. Jordan cancelled as well though. Boo.

FRIDAY: Weekly planning and zone meeting! I always love it because I learn a lot. We also had exchanges, I stayed in the area with Sister Harris and sister Latham went to Tooele. We saw C* and C* gave us rides! :) We also did reading with the M* :) so fun!

SATURDAY: We were going to do more at the grist mill but they cancelled due to the moistness of the wood, so we just looked around for a bit :) then we had lunch, went to the Big Canyon Mother’s Day activity, correlated with WML's, went to the trailer park, exchanged back, correlated, saw the V*, etc. I am such a dork. We get rides at night but I still have my keys with me, and I accidentally left them on the Pearson’s couch after the correlation. I didn't realize this until the end of our night and it was hailing and raining and the Pearson’s weren't home. Of course, my luck :P haha but we got it figured out... eventually :P

SUNDAY: WAS FABULOUS! Happy mother’s day! Among other things, Dylan got to come to church, C* was there, G*, P* and the whole family, a new LA we are going to start working with, and we got Mother’s Day presents (chocolates and flowers! :P) and of course, got to Skype home! YAY! It was so great, I was so happy to see my family and talk to Dad, Mom and Ella :) I miss my WHOLE FAMILY SO MUCH, but I’m no homesick. I just love them lots. Happy mother’s day mom!

This is the last week in the transfer so next Monday you'll hear about any changes coming up! :) love you and talk to you next week! :

What a Great Week! :D

Hello errybody! :P this has been a pretty great week, NOT gonna lie! :D the weather has been SUPER nice and I’m starting to get a bit of color! Don’t have a ton to write this week, but we've done a lot! We went on a six mile walk/hike today and the weather is great! :)
Monday we had a great pday. Sister Latham got a haircut and then we went and got her some spring clothes. And played games with other missionaries :) we also had a lesson with the V*s again. Awesome lesson. They are really coming along and he said if he gets baptized he wants it to be a whole family thing and eventually they want to get to the temple :)

Tuesday! We spent lots of time planning with the other Sisters, we are going to be doing a Bishop/ward mission leader/ward missionary fireside in July, more of like a training. We’re also going to start up a scripture study class this week! :) And we saw the M*s and had the first new member lesson with G*! We had dinner with the high councilman over missionary work and his wife (brother and Sister Wells) and we also saw D* that night! Good day :)

Wednesday- we decided that since Sister Poitivent was going into SLC to get her driving privileges we'd go as well and have Sister Latham take the test! She passed with flying colors and didn't go on the wrong side even once! ;P haha she did great actually. Then we got sonic! :D We saw C* and this morning actually found out her husband’s brother is coming out in July to baptize them, so we now have three people on date! O.o yayayayay! We’re super excited. We also saw O* that night and the V*s again. We’re hoping to get more people on date this week.

Thurs: We had yet ANOTHER full day. We met with B*, N*, R*, M*, D* (and her daughters who recently got baptized), and finally... J*! We finally got to see him this week and he realized that we've been over ALL the lessons! But he feels like he still doesn't know enough. We went over the baptismal interview questions and he passed those with flying colors. We’re going to keep working on him though! :)

Fri (hopefully all these spaces make it easier to read ;P haha) we had our district meeting and Pres. and Sister Hansen came out to congratulate us as a mission. Our mission wide goal for the month of April was 45 bapt and 45 reactivations. actuals?! 77 baptisms and 88 reactivations! We completely blew it out of the water and crushed the goal! So we got cookies and a bookmark! :) We also saw G* that day, T*, and correlated with the ward mission leader from SB, Brother Fairbanks. Saturday we got to do MORE service at the Benson Grist Mill. We sanded and painted and it was loads of fun! It wasn't as big of a turnout as last week, so we texted our Elders and for at least an hour there were 10 missionaries working away! Then we saw a bunch of ward mission leaders, and a few people we're working with throughout the day.

Yesterday (Sunday) was a great day! We were able to go on splits and make it to all 5 wards. Something sad happened and I won't go into detail (but I’m fine!). A problem we see ALL the time is hypocritical people in the church who say one thing and act another way, or don't separate religious life from their work life (in a negative way). People a lot of times won't come to church because they don't feel loved or welcomed and don't understand how a church could be true if the people in the church can be so terrible. Now, I’m not saying there are terrible people in the church, but we aren't perfect. THE CHURCH IS TRUE, PEOPLE AREN'T (always). It’s what I always say and what I always will say. (Other than that bit, Sunday was great! :D)

But I love you all and hope this week will be great for you as well. Keep doing great and be the wonderful children of god I know you are! :D talk to you (family) on Sunday! I really look forward to it! ♥

The snake visitor from last week. (I think it's a gophersnake)

A new way to study. LOL!

On the pday hike!

Hannah's hilarious sense of humor shines through!

Transfer 4, Week 3! :D Crazy!

This week has been pretty STINKIN GREAT!

Last Monday we went on a hike/walk with Sister Pearson and Sister Vickars and the other Sisters and saw some super cool Native American writings on rocks just above Lakepoint. Except for getting bit by bugs, it was a blast! I even found a Moses tree! (I’ll send a picture... how I put it is that Moses split the rock to get water in the desert and then put the burning bush inside :P haha) then we did some shopping really quickly and then pday activity, where we played blind volleyball with towels... aaaaand my towel ripped :P but it was old and raggy and I needed a new one anyways :) we had a great lesson with the V* that night, brother Chamberlain came and we talked a lot about faith at the end he got a really powerful blessing. It was great! They have some difficulties and many struggles, but they are trying to do their best and know this is something they need in their lives :)

Tuesday we tried to visit some people and among other things, thought we'd try to walk for part of that day because it was warm and we wanted to save miles. little did we know, that it was going to be near hurricane winds (possible exaggeration... but it was SUPER windy!) we almost got blown over quite a few times and we walked along this back road called lakeshore to the trailer park. By the time we got there, we decided we could visit one person and then we had to head back before it got a lot worse. So we did! We knocked on the door of a former and possibly convinced him to take the lessons again. A missionary who was here offended him a little bit but we think he'll give it another chance :) yay for the gospel! :) We were going to see K* but she was sick, so we took her some soup and herbal tea to make her feel better. I love helping! :) We had to borrow soup from the Sisters so when we got to their front door, to our SURPRISE, there was a snake right there in front of it! Super cool. Of course, being a snake I didn't recognize, I didn't dare touch it... although I was very tempted to pick it up... :) got a pic though! We had another lesson for G*, saw D* and ate dinner with their family, and saw D*. It was a good day :)

Wed we had lunch at the Chamberlains as usual and O* was there, which was great! As well as Abby (ward missionary) and B*. We had a lesson with G*, which was great! She said she's starting to gain a testimony, which is awesome! Because besides the parts of the Book of Mormon we have read with her... she had read 6 verses on her own! O.o haha she was looking up every single footnote that she could. She is just such a wonderful person! Then G* had his baptismal interview and we had dinner with N* (a LA we read with) and the Pearson’s. She is literally the SWEETEST lady you will ever meet, she just wants so bad to help and serve everybody :) we also had a lesson with O* that night and that went really well too! We taught the word of wisdom and she committed to live it. I think she is gaining a testimony, she just hasn't realized it yet. She does struggle to understand the Book of Mormon but one of the ward missionaries is going to go over and read with her every week to help her understand. We are also going to be starting up a scripture study class once a week for the stake, for anyone who wants help studying! We’re excited to start it up! :)

Thursday was literally a full day. We had appointments starting at noon at EVERY HOUR, and only two of them cancelled... but they were easy to fill! First we saw G*, then B* (RC who lives in the trailer park), then N*, then R*, then R*, then dinner, then T*, then B*! I may have missed someone too... I don’t know!

Fri was our district meeting and weekly planning, but Elder Holmes one of the ZL's was super sick, so we all made him get well soon cards :) he's from Gig Harbor, one of the MANY missionaries from WA :) haha we saw the Mc*s again and went to a ward activity and had a lesson for E*, His mom had us for dinner and made us real Mexican food... really good! Mom would be proud, I ate some salsa that was made of avocado, green tomato, and cilantro. That’s right, Sister Johnson tryin' new stuff! :P

Saturday was fantastically crazy! :P it started off really fun. It was pouring rain and we went to a community cleanup for the Benson Grist Mill across from the stake center. It’s a historical site that had lost its funding, so now the community is going to take care of it. We helped clean out cabins that were full of cool stuff like pelts, a stuffed fox (refer to video... ;) haha) salt covered cow skulls, etc. SO COOL! after a few hours we were then weeding in the pouring rain, and it was more fun than I thought it would be :) but then it got super cold and windy and we went home after lunch to warm up. Then we got ready for the Baptism! It was a great day, everything went smoothly, except the ward mission leader was late because he went to pick up Sister Cross and Claren from Bountiful. They both served here previously and worked with the Mc*s so it was cool that they got to be there. The super cool part? The mom gave the talk on baptism, the son Aaron said the opening prayer, and the next day when he was confirmed, the whole family, including the dad was there! They had never been there as a family before, so it was such a sweet experience! And A* is now worthy to use his priesthood, so he got to help bless the sacrament (break the bread, etc.) it was amazing! Saturday night we also went to a ward talent show and Sister Latham and I sung "A Poor Wayfaring Man", she was nervous but we just had fun :) and we got a cheesecake. So GOOD.

A really cool experience I had this week: as we were walking I was reflecting on a few experiences and found them related! Earlier in my fist transfer here, I was still kinda stressed and we were both in a funk, so we got a blessing and in the blessing, Elder Day said that I wouldn't be affected by things that happened at home. At the time, nothing was going on, so I shrugged it off. Then I remembered how I had reacted when I found out that Grandpa Hanson had been in an accident. What was my emotion? Peace. I knew that everything was going to be ok, and I realized this week that it’s because of the blessing! I know my heavenly father is aware of me and is watching out for me! love you all and have a great week! :)

LOVES!
