Another Awesome Week! (i think i'm running out of headings for my weekly letters :P haha)

Another Awesome Week! (i think i'm running out of headings for my weekly letters :P haha)

So! this week was super busy! not nearly as busy as last week lesson wise, but still we hardly had a chance to breathe it seemed like! So, this is how it went:

MONDAY: we emailed, then went to DI, walmart shopping, got delicious Roxberry smoothies, and played a really fun activity as a zone! something called pictophone, a mix of pictionary and telephone. SUPER FUN! also, there was a "change". Lamberts made us gyros and brother lambert has actually been to greek islands in anacortes before!! its such a small world :P OH and my daughter is a freaking boss!! so, brother lambert loves spicy, especially sauces and he can handle a LOT. so he bought the second hottest sauce in the entire world for him and sister smith to try and they did. He was sweating, his mouth went numb, he said it was like liquid fire. sis smith hardly blinked... then went back for more!! it was HILARIOUS! she is awesome :P haha

TUESDAY: a full day! we had lessons, we saw N*- it was her birthday so we got her an elvis CD (she LOVES elvis), sister mason drew a picture of a hamster that looked like elvis, and she was so happy :) we went to a L* house and helped sand stuff for projects they're doing and then she made us white sauce enchiladas for dinner, super bien! :P haha! lots of people getting ready to enter the waters of baptism though!!

WEDNESDAY: we made visits with sister vickars the stake relief society president and gave her a picture of Christ that i watercolored (again :P, different pic though...) then we went to SLC for the new missionary training which lasted most of the afternoon, but it was super good! i LOVE trainings. seriously. and i love helping with them too :) we had the first lesson with a new investigator, D* (yes, polynesian :P) haha and he's a cool kid! 9 years old and the family is awesome too! we also finally saw O* and the V* as well.

THURSDAY: the 24th of July is really BIG here! they did a kids day at the Benson Grist Mill (you can put the pics jill sent you on the blog :) and that was fun to help out with! then we had a lesson with Ginger and its getting to the point where she just isn't coming to church... she's come once and that was in May. we may have to drop her soon. after that we had our Interviews with President in Tooele and that was wonderful! i love interviews because its always a really spiritual experience, President Hansen is an amazing person, mission president, etc. he's like another grandpa! :D he did tell me though that i'll probably be getting transferred, which will be ok. i'm fine with whatever the Lord wants for me... maybe i'll go to Kaysville or something! :P After interviews we saw N*! which was good, except we found out she's going to be moving :( she sold her house and so she is going to be moving out at the end of August. SOO SAD! after dinner we went to the stake pioneer day party, which was huge! a huge turnout and they did a fun run where the firetrucks sprayed people and we helped wtih rootbeer floats and husking and wrapping HOT smoked corn. we did 300 ears and had JUST the right amount. we were scared for a bit we weren't gonna have enough :P phewph!

FRIDAY: district meeting, planning, dinner with the chamberlains, saw brother fairbanks, bishop steinegal (over Lakepoint ward), saw R*, and stopped by the M*, which was nice to see them :) good day! tiring, but good!

SATURDAY: SUPER BUSY DAY!!! we had 4 correlations to do with ward mission leaders, a lesson at the T* (hopefully M* will get on date this week!!), lesson with V* (she is totally getting there!, we brought her primary teacher april warby to help at the lesson) lesson with l* we were going to do service, help F* get ready for their wedding on the 8th but they weren't home so we did other stuff! visits, etc. good day!

SUNDAY: we had 3 Ward Councils we went to. such a long busy day! but it was good! and we got to go to the YSA ward, had a lesson with K* who we hadn't seen in awhile (she is my fellow whovian :P) and a new family the s*s, stopped by, shared a message, and offered to walk their akita's (dogs) at least once a week. yay for helping people! :P

I absolutely am loving the mission and can't wait for what is sure to come, its scary to think i'm almost halfway because its going SOO fast, but im so excited too! :) love you all and Keep the Faith! ♥

An AMAZING WEEK!

I can definitely testify of a few things:
1) hard work pays off, and everything is in the LORDS TIME!
2) Greenie power is REAL! :)
3) the book is blue and the church is true!!

OK, so its been an awesome week! so much good has happened and we've had some awesome lessons we've taught. i'll try to remember to put in a spiritual experience this week, sorry, i'm always so rushed :P

MONDAY: was awesome! we played games, shopped at walmart, went golfing, got a package from mom (shirts are awesome and love the fun stuff :P). we had dinner with the lamberts (it was DELICIOUS as usual!) and went to YSA FHE, and had a lesson with the T*. M* is doing really well, understanding everything and remembering most everything!!

TUESDAY: we had a pretty busy day! we tried to make a lot of visits and contact our referrals, but not as much luck as i would've liked. we finally had a lesson with P* though and Miracle #1 of the week: we put him on date for baptism!! :) it was a long time coming and we're all super excited! had a lesson with S* as well at night and the O*'s. S*'s lesson we talked about the gospel of Jesus Christ (faith, repentance, baptism, holy ghost, and endure to the end)... and guess what?! another miracle! we put her on date as well!!! :D was an awesome day! we also got a referral from brother chamberlain for a 9 year old in a semi-active family that we are going to start teaching... and put on date this week! so many good things happening in the area and in peoples lives!! PLUS in the O*'s lesson we commited them to all going to church on sunday (aren't sure yet if they did or not but we will find out! :P)

WEDNESDAY: We had another lesson with the Tovars and then right after that went into Salt Lake so sister Smith could take her drivers test. we got there and she was SUPER nervous, because she has never really driven in the city before, she (in missouri) lives in the middle of nowhere on a dirt road. but she said she would try and do her best, we said a prayer, and she did GREAT. probably better than i did haha :P after that we had lunch at IHOP with the giftcard that sister rutter sent me and i had delicious pancakes with peaches and rasberry :) shoutout! ♥ ran to deseret books so sis smith could get a few things, then home for a service project. That night we had a lesson with M* and F* and they are getting married, and he asked if he could get baptized on the 9th, the day after their wedding!! MIRACLE #3!!! wow wow wow! i was so happy and full of the spirit this week it was awesome. we did tell him that there are certain commandments he has to follow and he said he's willing to live them when he learns about them, but he really wants to be baptized and eventually sealed to his family :) I LOVE THE GOSPEL!!!

THUSDAY: was another great day! we did our regular morning schedule, had a lesson with g*, i think the biggest struggle we have with her is that she ALWAYS says she will come to church and is very genuine, but she has shown up once, and that was mothers day. in MAY. its kinda frustrating, but i think we're going to try to do temple square with her. we had a lesson with S* as well again and that went well, everyone is on board with the bapism! we haven't been having as many lessons with p* because everyone has been super busy (he's been working, family drama, etc.). we also saw n*, dopped R* as well, which you could tell he was really disappointed about and we're probably going to pick him back up sometime soon :) we had a lesson with the m* in the trailer park, and it was altogether a busy day and i felt grea! weather has been cooler and we had some rain and thunder this week, especially on sunday! :)

FRIDAY! we surprise weeded for the V* again for morning exercise (before it got too hot)- the pile was HUGE!!! O.o Distict meeting, lunch (subway with the giftcard from sis Rutter again!!), planning, correlation, a quiet not super busy day, a usual friday. but planning is going really well! President wants us to be expert planners by the end of july, and i feel like i'm starting to get there!

SATURDAY: had correlations, saw T* up in the trailer park and set up an appointment, chamberlains gave us a giant bag of walnuts from her tree... they are HUGE and SOOOO Good. SO GOOD. we saw l* as well, and made visits.

SUNDAY: busy sabbath as usual, it will be weird to come home and 1) have only 3 hours of church, 2) not be 100% busy! we never have spare time on sunday! always somewhere to be. we went to gospel principles with m* and f* and in Lakepoint sacrament meeting sister pearson was released as relief society president! O.o it was so sad. you could tell she was bummed, but is all the lords plan. went to Primay with S* and i was sitting next to her in sharing and singing time... and she was sneezing every 10 seconds... literally! we were really confused and then we realized... she was probably allergic to me or my clothes! because i think the shirt i was wearing has some silk in it and she is allergic to silk :P hahahaha. fun sunday adventures :P primary is more fun than i remembered too!! :P we did the stop smoking lesson with m* and f* and that went really well, he's definitely got a long way to go in a short amount of time, but i know he can do it!! :) i have faith in him and in the lord and in the gospel!

I love all of the had work we've had the opportunity to do this week and i can't wait for this next week too! :) have a great one and Keep the Faith! :) ♥

A Fantastic Week! :)

(Letter from July 14th, 2014)
What a great week this has been! It’s just flown by and we've been really busy! I think one of the best parts though would have to be.... THE RAIN! I think we got rain 2 or 3 of the days this week and cooler temperatures to go along! It reminded me of home, especially the light sprinkles! I probably sound weird, but they were like heavenly kisses from above :)

MONDAY: pday was SUPER busy. Emailing, cleaning, shopping, golfing, activity, dinner, FHE, bed. We played categories with the zone which was fun- you have a group of people and a squirt bottle. One person picks a category and something specific in that category and they everyone goes around and says their own, if they way the one you're thinking of then they get squirted and it’s their turn! :) Good to play when its 103 outside! o.O haha

TUESDAY: Sister Hathaway and Callahan moved homes so we helped them out with that. We had some lessons cancel as well. Sister Mason gets headaches and migraines because she's had brain surgery twice (when she was 11ish) but she doesn't let them get her down for too long, which is awesome. She is a hard worker and quiet, but when she does talk she's always got amazing things to say... and she's hilarious! :P

WEDNESDAY: had a lesson with the T* this week! We made bunches of visits, saw N* (it had been about 6 weeks since we'd seen her), it POURED, which was awesome! Saw L*, year is moving along as well! :)

THURSDAY: lesson with T* again, finished the Blomquists baptismal records, lunch with the Chamberlains, lesson with G*, N*, R*, Mc*, and then a Stake Missionary Training for Ward Mission Leaders and Ward Missionaries. It was good... I got to give a short talk on Retention and how it’s the wards responsibility to be involved and lead it. They really are crucial! And everyone should study ch 13 in PMG and go back and read Elder Ballard's talk from April Conference... it rocked!! :)

FRIDAY: We had our district meeting, lunch, weekly planning, I GOT A LETTER FROM SISTER RUTTER! It totally made my day, so before I write back... thanks so much! It really helped me out and I was so happy :) we had a correlation with Brother Fairbanks, we saw Bishop Argyle, picked some Spearmint... yum! :) saw M* and F* as well to set up an appointment. QUOTE of the DAY: Delegation hurts :P haha

SATUDAY: some of the important things when teaching people: agency. Priorities. Real intent
We had a day full of corelations, we did a surprise service for someone, a lesson with G* and M*, and saw the V* :) just keeps getting better and better! :) We also saw B*... earlier in the week he fell on a broken mirror and cut his arm REALLY bad. So he didn't make it through the stop smoking program but he's gonna try again next week! :)

SUNDAY: busy as usual! We go a referral for a boy in the Benson Mill ward who just turned 9, family semi-active... so we're excited to hear about that! :) We helped teach sharing time in the Millpond ward, which was fun... it’s been a REALLY long time though :P haha we also had he YSA ward council and that went really well too! We had a lesson with M* and F* and M* wants to be baptized... and they're getting married August 8th! So... things are going well!

It’s been a week full of fun things, hard work, hot weather and tender mercies. Love you all and Keep the Faith! :)

Lessons to Learn

One theme that I’ve been noticing this week is just how much Heavenly Father wants us to learn, and I’ve been noticing it for a while, but I guess have been paying more attention to all the things I CAN learn from- which is anything and everything.
Monday was a pretty normal pday, full of goodbyes, but at the same time there was a lot of good- I found out that elder Holmes was coming back to be our ZL (to the same area too :P haha), we get to keep Elder Selin as our DL, I get to be in a trio and train again! It’s been super fun so far and I’ve already seen myself and the area grow lots! :) It’s making me really happy.
So Tuesday was transfers, Sister Pearson brought us to transfers and I said a sad goodbye to Sister Bennet. I also got to see lots of missionaries who were going home- my first ZL's elder Lawrence and Studer being some of them... so sad! :'( But they're all going to do great things!! Picked up my new companion, Sister Mason and then went to the new missionary orientation-pick-up-thing. Sis Mason has been out for 10.5 months and is from South Carolina, she is super sweet and petty quiet too... until you get to know he ;P haha
My new trainee/daughter is Sister Smith! She is from Missouri (no not St. Louis, north-central area close to Adam-Ondi-Ahmen!) She is a super great missionary already, super motivated, and so humble and loving and has a great testimony too! :)
Tue night we got to work making visits and she had two jobs as a new missionary: by the end of the night invite someone to be baptized and place a book of Mormon. She did invite someone to be baptized... I failed on the book of Mormon part though. But they both rock! And guess what we had for dinner that night? TILAPIA. That’s right, everyone. BE PROUD. I ATE FISH :P haha it wasn't that bad, didn't taste fishy.
Wednesday was a pretty busy day too! We had a lesson with the T* where Sis Smith did another baptismal invitation to M*, so we're going to be working hard on that :) Then we had a working lunch with the other Sister s (German pancakes/Dutch babies :P) had the stop smoking lesson with B*, made more visits, had a lesson with L* (Austin Vickars from YSA ward came with us!) and the O*'s as well. It was a super busy and successful day, it just made me so happy!
Thursday we had lunch with the Chamberlains, got our bunk bed set up, had a lesson with G*, O* cancelled again, we saw N* and R*, dinner, and our scripture study class and met with brother Flores about the Blomquists Baptism! (Details and such)- Another successful day :)
Friday was 4th of July! We got to go shoot off rockets with our zone and the Tooele zone, which was a "BLAST" :P haha! We did it by district and ours TOTALLY WON! Probably because it had angry birds duct tape on it... ;) WE then go coldstones for lunch- I know, bad. But it’s been in the 100's like ALL WEEK!!!! Had our zone meeting, then weekly planning, then dinner with the Pearson’s, then finished planning. A good day, just not lesson wise. Got lots of good planning done!!
SATURDAY WAS AWESOME!! Exhausting, but awesome :) it started off with a service project, we hucked branches into a wood chipper, which was... destructive... :P and loud. But fun still! Then a lesson with the T* again, went to Tooele and did Family history with the M*. I found out another cool person I’m related to... John Smith and Pocohontas!! Legit... I AM A DISNEY PRINCESS!!!!! :D and an avenger, and a greek god, and just super cool I guess : P Then... the baptism! The Blomquist family finally got baptized and it was such an amazing baptism! And so many people were there!! Sis Latham, Bennett, Cross, Claren, and Perez! 10  Sister s total! It was awesome! (In the pics sis smith is the tall skinny one with short hair and sis mason is short light brown hair and glasses) the baptism was great and it will be something that is remembered for a REALLY long time :) Also had another lesson with Liz!
Sunday! I was starving ALL day. So hungry. But church from 9-4, 3 confirmations in the first sacrament meeting, one in the second, and in YSA ward we finally got a Ward Mission Leader! He’s been off of his mission for 4 days now I think... :P exciting! We had dinner with N* and a lesson after. It was great- except she got really bad news during dinner and she had already had a tough day and she had a mini seizure in the middle of dinner. I was worried about her but she was ok. I just love her so much, she is the most giving and loving person in the whole world :) Made visits and kept busy! I’m much happier and the work is starting to move along more.

Shout out to Loren Bickley who went home last week! :)

Keep doing good! Love you all! :)
